Who We Are

Joyful: Committed: Servants: Hope-filled: Sinners and Saints

Our Redeemer Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The ELCA has over 4 million members and 10,000 congregations within the United States. To find out more about the ELCA you can visit www.ELCA.org

Our mission as a congregation is to share the “good news” of God’s love for the world and the salvation that God offers through Jesus Christ.

We also seek to develop committed followers of Christ. We teach the 10 commandments as the basis for our moral conduct, and we teach the command of Jesus: Love God with all your heart, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. This forms the core of our Christian ethic.

Lutherans also believe that our behavior is grounded in “because…therefore.” Because we believe that we have experienced unearned grace and forgiveness from God, and because God has promised us resurrection of the body and eternal life…therefore we serve God and our neighbor, and seek to live lives that are gracious, forgiving, and generous to others.

Worship at Our Redeemer Church is a joyful celebration of God’s love to us. We conduct worship in 2 different styles.

Our 8:30 a.m. service is a traditional, liturgical service. A 30-voice choir helps to lead worship and provide inspirational music. The liturgy is played on organ and choral music is accompanied by organ, piano, harpsichord, and occasionally other instruments.

Our 10 a.m. service is a prayer and praise service. Worship is led by a praise band with guitar, keyboard, drums, and percussion instruments. The service is more informal and the message for the day is in a “teaching” format.

Service to the community is an important part of our mission. We distribute thousands of bags of groceries each year to local residents. We conduct a homeless program (S.H.I.P) in a home owned by our church. We support numerous projects internationally that help people in need: compassion international, campaign to eliminate malaria, Oaks Indian mission, and others. We also conduct swimming classes for children in the community every summer.

ALL are welcome!
